We recommend yearly examinations for all dogs and cats. After the age of 7, our companion animals are considered to be in their senior years and examinations every 6 months are highly recommended. The sooner we can find evidence of disease, the sooner we can begin to treat it.

We recommend that all dogs and cats be vaccinated. Even indoor cats should be vaccinated so that they are protected if someone accidently lets them out, you bring a new pet into the house, or a wild animal enters the house (remember bats are a common host for Rabies!). We can run titers to measure the level of antibodies in your pet’s system to help us determine how often to give vaccines.

What our clients say

Easily the best vet I've ever been to. The staff are caring and love your animals as if they are their own. They know who I am when I walk in or call. I love that they call the following day to check in to see how your pet is doing. Can't say enough good things about them.

I am incredibly thankful that a place like PAWS Animal Hospital exists. Dr. Friedland, Jen, Jess, and the rest of the staff are top notch! My fur kids mean the world to me and knowing that there is a group of people with their knowledge, experience, and compassion gives us such peace of mind. I travel all the way from Hampstead, MD and would go even further just to keep them as our vet. I wouldn't trust Lionel, Natalie, Bill, or our late Velveeto to anyone else.

Best vet around. We drive over an hour to see her. We met Dr Friedland years ago when she was working at the emergency and helped us with our older dog who has since passed. When we got a new dog we looked her up and have been so impressed with her care. She is always available and really cares for animals. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her.

I've been to a couple vets in Hanover with my previous dogs and this by far was the best I've come across.. Not to mention they got me in last minute and were great with my dog who was a rescue and was extremely afraid... Thank you again guys!
